Last month, we brought Miss Kwek to the latest children hangout in town: The Artground.
Situated within the compound of Goodman Art Centre, The Artground consist of various installations suited for children age 0-12years old. Since Miss Kwek just turned 6 months, the only installation that is suitable for her is the baby stage.
The baby stage is a big space with different installation within for both baby and parents to hangout and explore! It was pretty awesome. Then, the baby stage theme was "down the rabbit hole" by artist Ya See Poh. Many mixed media structures for baby to interact. Miss Kwek had so much fun exploring the various textures of the objects around.
Within the baby stage holds the Baby Space, a paid performance for children age 0-16months.
Baby space is a half hour performance priced at $18 per carer and child. Please not that only one parent can accompany the child in! Advance booking is required.
Mr Kwek got to enjoy this bonding time with Miss Kwek while I stoned at the Baby Stage. :p
The baby space was minimally dressed in white and decorated with mainly white soft spongy foam pieces. There are only two performers who go around performing and interacting with the children.
Everyone who enters for the performance will be required to sanitize their feet, including children, with the provided wet wipes. Hence, will be good if footwear wore are not too complicated to be removed.
According to Mr Kwek, Miss Kwek who usually wobbles so much when sitting, was fully immersed in the performance that she was sitting up so well!
Verdict from the mister?
It's the best $18 he spent for awhile! :)
Highly recommended!
Highly recommended!
Miss Kwek was all smiley and laughing when she came out from the performance! I'm sure she did enjoyed herself very much!
Not sure how good a stimuli the performance but Miss Kwek did show a sudden breakthrough in her milestones. Just the day after, Miss Kwek was able to sit up by herself without help (though still wobbly) and she who has been stuck rocking on all fours for sometimes, started crawling!
Amazed!
Was it pure coincidences or was it due to the stimulation from the performance?
Let me know if any of you have the same experience. :)
Do pay a visit to The Artground for some family bonding time. It's well worth the time, money and effort.
