Eastern Europe 2015 Day 9 Budapest [[Market Square + Chain Bridge]]

Officially, Budapest Keleti is our least favourite train station! It was old and filled with very unfriendly service staff who were reluctant to give the right directions to the non-visible ticketing counter for purchase of transport tickets. So be prepared if you are arriving via the train station!!

It was a whole new world once we left the station. Budapest is unexpectedly pretty and people within the city are well, friendlier!

We headed to the tram stop and was a little disappointed to find the tram to be old and small. This made luggage transporting difficult. Mad-missing the Krakow tram!!

çŽ°è‹ŠćŽç”œ (hardship first, sweetness to end) is exactly what I will describe our Eastern Europe trip, cos our B&B here was so freaking awesome, I won't mind staying indoor the whole day!

Finally, a proper apartment to ourselves with AIR-CONDITION!!! We were so pleasantly pleased.

After much resting and a long shower, we headed to the city center market square for dinner. The market square consist of two levels, level one on the bottom consist of stalls selling various spice and fresh poultry while the second level consist of food stalls. Although the limited food stalls offer a variety of food, each stall has limited seating available. We waited awhile for seats before deciding to order a langos and cabbage wrap to share.

Langos are dough fritters fried and topped with your choice of topping while the cabbage wrap has curry rice wrapped in it. We regret ordering the langos as no price tag was attached to it and we suspected we got conned since it cost us SGD$15.

Lesson learnt, ask before ordering or order only those that has a price tag attached to it.
After dinner, we walked around the market square awhile before heading to the river bank to view Buda and the famous Chain Bridge. Passed by Macdonald and can't help but headed in to get two cuppies of ice blend and frapp to combat the heat. Well, we finished it before we reached the river bank. (-.-")

Hello Buda from across the river! :)
Chain bridge was less magnificent in real life as compared to Charles bridge in Prague. Surprisingly, I managed to pull off taking such a nice photo of it!
*rare moments of brillance*

We decided to cross Chain bridge to Buda for a preview before making our way back to our very welcoming B&B.

We ended our day with some take away supper from Burger King to eat at the comfort of our air conditioned B&B. Probably the best meal experience we had through our trip :p

Next up, we will be visiting the parliament, an extraordinary beautiful place! Do stay tune! :)
