Eastern Europe 2015 Day 10 Budapest [[Parliament House + Memorial of the Russian Army + St Stephan Basalica + Hero Square + Szechenyi Thermal Bath]]

Started our day early with a prebooked tour to the parliament. This is one tour not to be missed! The building within was extraordinary beautiful. The interior was decorated very polishly making the place feel surreal, as if, you have stepped into a palace! No real business of any seem to exist in this building.

There is a mini cafe at the reception area which we sat to have some breakfast before the tour. The 45 minutes guided tour was pretty much as suggested- guided. Only selected areas were shown to us. Still, it was grand enough to leave a lasting impression on everyone!

After the tour, we headed to the souvenir shop within the building to window shop before heading out to camwhore the beautiful surroundings.

Took a stroll over to visit the Memorial of the Russian Army before making our way to the St. Stephan basilica which was all well within walkable distance.

Admission fee is 200HUF to the basilica and another 500HUF for entry to the top of the basilica to view the skyline of the city center. Entry to the top may be done either by the elevator or via the 300 steps just outside the ticketing counter. The elevator can be found at either the left of the basilica basement or at the right of the basilica landing level.

We took a break at a nearby starbucks before continuing our stroll to the Hero Square. The only way by feet was along the shopping streets.  Although the stroll was pretty long, the streets were pretty shady as much alfresco cafes dotted the streets.

Hero Square can be easily spotted from afar as it's beautiful statue stands tall against the skyline. Hero Square is also situated infront of a park, where the famous and largest Szechenyi thermal bath is! Do remember to bring your bathing suit along!

After much camwhoring and admiring of the statues, we head towards the park to find the yellow thermal bath building! It was a pricey but well worth eye-opener experience. Amazingly crowded, every inch of the pools and walk areas were occupied by sun tanners! It kind of reminds me of our public pools but like a hundred time more massive.

Entrance fee with normal lockers per entry is 4500HUF. We took a private cabin for an additional 500HUF. This request and payment can only be made at the counter, inside the building.

There were many pools available with different temperatures. Only 3 of it was outdoor. 2 of which are for swimming and the other is for chilling. One of the most must do thing is to join in the merry-go-around in one of the jacuzzi pool! It looks lame but pretty fun! The mister and me did at least 4 rounds before dropping out to relax-one-corner.

We dipped in a couple of different pools before deciding to head back to town for takeaway back to our comfy b&b. We did not stay long as firstly, the hot sun was a killer and secondly, considering how crowded the pools were, it didn't feel the most hygenic place to be hanging around for long.

So one of the dishes we took away was the beef and chicken goulash. Recommended! Pretty awesome with some bread or rice. Much love for this dish hence it is worth a mention though it doesn't look much.
Our last day in Budapest will be spent at Castle Hill! Stay tune, meanwhile, read my other Eastern Europe posts from the following links :)
