Taiwan 2015 Day 2: [[ Taipei 台北 ]]

After a hectic previous day of traveling out to New Taipei area, we decided to stay within Taipei to feast and shop the day away.

Started our day with brunch at ding tai feng 鼎泰豐, a famous michelin star eatery, which is alway crowded back in Singapore. We reached at 10am during opening and did not have to queue. However, by the time we are done, the queue outside was already forming at around noon.

Take train from Taipei Main Station to Dongmen (Red line, 3 stops)
Alight and exit by exit 5, walk along Lishui St. and Yongkang St.

We headed off to Huashan 1914 Creative Park 華山1914文化創意產業園區. It is a hipster place with lots of cafes and restaurants. During the weekends, a flea market full of hand made creative products will be put on sales. Not the cheapest but definitely one of the more unique and less commercialized items not found in night markets.

The cafes were pretty much more affordable as compared to Singapore's. As we were still full, we just settled in one of the bigger cafe and shared a sandwich and cake. The meal turned up to be less than SG$20! Not too bad for the quality, service and free wifi provided!

Oh and Jay Chou's Deja Vu restaurant is also here. :)

*If from Taipei Main Station, take blue line 3 stops to Zhongxiao Xinsheng

Take Exit 1 and continue walking straight for about a block till an underpass and giant red diamond is in sight. The park is just across the street.

Taipei Expo Park 花博公园 was next on the list as we were keen to visit the Maji Maji Square we read so much about!

Maji Maji Square is a new culture and food complex. Lots of cute hand made accessories on sales, a square with international cuisines and also, a Maji Deli which sells really yummy looking baked goods! Their Bagels seem to sell out fast with the never ending queue.

Overall, it's a great place to spend the afternoon away! I enjoyed myself very much with the many great unique buys that was although pricey, was in my opinion well worth the moolahs! :)

We ended off the day with Shilin night market 士林夜市. It came as a surprise to us how much Shilin night market has evolved! So much bigger! Now with an indoor basement food section with seats! *mountain tortoise!*

We headed down to have a look but decided on doing it our old way- walking, shopping while snacking instead! :)

Overall, we did enjoyed ourselves feasting and shopping away. Food wise, we can't really try much since the food were a tack oily for our liking and the portions were all so huge! Very jialak! Lol. Shopping wise, it's pretty decent for me and my pockets! :)
